Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to information when you use mytexttool.com (“this site”). The site is published by fuyugaki, which is the data controller for the purposes of the EU and U.K. General Data Protection Regulation. You can reach us at the address on the Contact page.

The short version: the text you paste into the tools never leaves your browser, and the site itself sets no cookies. Advertising served by Google does use cookies, and the sections below describe that in full.

1. Text You Enter Into the Tools

Every tool on this site — the word counter, the prefix and suffix tool, text compare, the capitalizer, both typography tools, the AP style converter, and the mojibake decoder — runs entirely in your browser as JavaScript. Your text is not uploaded, not transmitted to any server, not logged and not stored. It exists only in your browser’s memory and disappears when you close or reload the page.

This is verifiable rather than a promise: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab and use any tool. You will see no request carrying your text. Because nothing is stored, there is also nothing to recover — if you navigate away before copying your output, it is gone.

The one exception in kind, not in behavior, is the User Agent tool, which reads properties your browser already exposes and displays them back to you on screen. That information is also not transmitted or recorded anywhere.

2. Cookies and Similar Technologies

mytexttool.com sets no cookies of its own and writes nothing to local storage or session storage.

Third parties do set cookies on this site. Specifically:

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking third-party cookies does not affect any tool on this site, because no tool depends on them. Blocking scripts on the contact page does prevent the check from running, and because the address is held on the server rather than written into the page, it cannot be revealed without the check.

3. Advertising

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalized advertising from other participating vendors at aboutads.info/choices or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

Opting out stops advertising from being personalized. It does not remove advertising from the site.

How Google handles data collected from sites that use its services is described in Google’s own policy for partner sites.

4. Server Logs

Like effectively every website, this site runs on a web server that keeps standard access logs. These are generated automatically by the hosting provider and by Cloudflare, and typically record the IP address of the request, the time, the page requested, the referring page and the browser’s user agent string.

These logs exist for security and for diagnosing faults. They are not used to build profiles of visitors, are not combined with anything else, and are not sold or shared. They are retained by the hosting provider and Cloudflare according to their own retention schedules; this site does not export or analyze them.

Under GDPR, the legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and functioning.

5. Email You Send

If you write to the address on the Contact page, the message and your email address are received in an ordinary mailbox and kept only as long as needed to deal with what you wrote about. Correspondence is not added to any mailing list, and there is no newsletter.

6. If You Are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland

You have the right to request access to personal data held about you, to request correction or deletion, to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interest, to request restriction of processing, and to data portability. Because this site stores no personal data of its own beyond incoming email, most such requests will be answered by pointing you to the relevant third party — Google for advertising data, or the hosting provider for logs.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

7. If You Are in California

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. This site does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and it does not collect the categories of information the Act is chiefly concerned with. Advertising personalization can be turned off through the opt-out links in section 3.

8. Children

This site is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has sent personal information through the contact address, write to that address and it will be deleted.

9. External Links

Pages on this site link to external references — style guide publishers, standards documents and similar sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

10. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as the site changes. The dates at the bottom of this page record the current version. Material changes will be reflected there rather than applied silently.
